KZG and Garden State Craft Brewers Guild Featured in NJBIZ Magazine

New Jersey’s craft brewing industry has recently exploded here in the Garden State. There are, however, challenges – as well as opportunities – for the $1.2 billion industry.

In 2012, Gov. Christie signed a landmark law that helped modernize the state’s craft beer industry. The bill, driven by KZG client the Garden State Craft Brewers Guild, revised restrictions on the state’s microbreweries and brewpubs in order to create a more friendly business environment for New Jersey’s craft brewing industry. The industry now boasts 50 breweries operating in the state, with nearly 40 expected to open within the next 18 months.

With a staggering increase in craft breweries in New Jersey, a rapidly growing membership in the Garden State Craft Brewers Guild, and the continuous demand for advocacy for and against legislation to help smaller breweries flourish, the industry is seeing an increased need for dialogue with the Legislature and state regulators.

In a series of articles recently published in NJBIZ, New Jersey’s premiere business news publication, author Meg Fry explores the Guild’s most recent legislative pursuits and their implications for the industry and the economic development of the state as a whole. KZG’s Eric Orlando goes into depth in the articles about how he and the firm are leading the Guild in these activities.
